Are You the Hostess with the Mostess? Has your illness overstayed its welcome?

Has your illness overstayed its welcome, but you can’t seem to get rid of it? Have you been sick for so long, tried everything, been told there’s nothing else that can be done? Well, let’s explore this a bit more before you throw in the towel!

I’m a chiropractor that now focuses on helping really sick clients remove whatever is blocking their good health. And let me tell you, some of you guys have built really big walls that are blocking your good health! Without realizing it, you have made yourself a really good host to some super bugs, inflammation, and just illness in general. And now you’re frustrated and angry! Really angry. How do I know this? Because I’ve had plenty of people lash out at me when I try to help!

You see, I fully recovered from Lyme Disease a few years ago.

That statement alone can set off someone who has been experiencing a chronic illness like Lyme Disease.

It’s meant to be inspiring – if I can do it, so can you! Let me share what I learned so that you can heal too! But instead, when you have been sick a long time, you aren’t always in a good mood. In fact, you can lash out at others pretty easily.

What I’m going to say next is meant wake you up a bit. You see, I’ve been in your shoes. I used to be in a dark place, but was able to shift out of that ugly, negative experience – and I never want to go back there. If you resonate with what I’m saying in an open way, then you are ready to shift out of your illness. If, on the other hand, you resonate in a negative way…say, you feel defensive, feel angry, feel like this is a personal attack on you, then you aren’t quite ready to shift to a better place…yet. There’s nothing good or bad about this, just think of this as you are either ready right now to hear something different, or you aren’t.

So here goes…here is what I used to do and what I see really sick people doing:

Have you been lashing out at anyone who dares to help you? Insisting that they aren’t doing enough to help you, they aren’t giving it to you for free, they aren’t doing the work for you, they aren’t tearing down your walls fast enough, they aren’t freeing you from the hole you put yourself in, heck, they won’t even come down in your hole and be miserable with you.

And I get that you might not see it this way…you might be thinking that the world is a mean, dark place. That everywhere you turn you get denied something. People are turning their backs on you. No one seems to care. No one understands what you are going through.

So keep in mind there are 2 sides to the story! There is what you perceive and there is what someone else perceives. And both perceptions can be very different, depending on your thoughts and beliefs.

My role is to help you get out of that hole, not jump in with you! My role is to challenge your beliefs about your illness, not be your pity party friend. My role is to inspire you to make some changes in your life, not tell you that I’m going to solve your problems for you.

So, let’s get to work!

Have you been the Hostess with the Mostess? Did you know that your body can easily clear most pathogens? That is, unless you are being a really good host and practically begging them to stay! Most illnesses, from Lyme Disease to autoimmune diseases to cancer, have an underlying chronic infection going on.

And while pharmaceutical drugs are great at bringing us out of crisis mode, they cannot cure anything. In fact, they tend to create super bugs, or pathogens that are very difficult to kill with other pharmaceutical drugs.

So, what does it take to be a really good host to bugs and illness in general? I want you to think about teenagers, and what it takes to make them feel comfortable and welcome in your home:

  • Never clean up – no detoxing, no cleaning up dirty dishes, no washing your hands, etc
  • Keep junk food on hand at all times. The more chemicals and sugar the better!
  • Consume massive quantities of sugar (grains, candy, chips, ice cream, soda).
  • Have a bad attitude – use fear and anger to keep your body on high-alert at all times.
  • Don’t get any sleep – stay up and party all night with your bugs.

Doesn’t this sound exactly like something you do to encourage teenagers to hang around your house? Yep. Exactly. If you don’t want the teenagers hanging around, making a mess of everything, then you need to make some changes…enforce some new rules.

If you want the teenagers (or bugs or illness) to leave, make yourself a bad host by:

  • Serving only fruits and vegetables
  • Clean up your environment and keep it clean. Insist that the kids pick up after themselves too.
  • Remove sugar from your diet
  • Get some sleep!
  • Go after WHY you were making yourself a good host in the first place. This one will take some thoughtful contemplation. Sometimes we want to please others, sometimes we want attention, sometimes we want to feel like we aren’t alone, sometimes we just really like to play the role of the victim so we can blame everyone else. This WHY will actually have the most power – it will be a more powerful reason for you to remain sick than your bugs or sugar consumption or whatever.

Ultimately, your thoughts and beliefs actually do control your biology. This is all quantum physics. For more of the research behind this, check out Bruce Lipton’s book, The Biology of Belief.
