Facts and statistics are all well and good…until your belief in them dictates your health! This is especially concerning when a doctor is giving you “facts and statistics” related to a diagnosis. Are you aware of how susceptible or suggestible you are?
What would you think if a doctor told you any of the following?
These suggestible statements are called the Nocebo Effect. If you believe them, they will limit you.
The flip side of this topic is the Placebo Effect. This is where someone is given something that does nothing (a sugar pill, a shot with only saline solution, a fake surgery), yet they are told that it will help them. The mere suggestion that something will help them causes them to believe it will help them, and then it does help them!
Every drug trial has a placebo to test against, and many times the people receiving the placebo do just as well if not better than those people receiving the real drug…but those statistics get buried. If people really knew how powerful their thoughts and beliefs were, the need for drugs and surgery would dwindle.

Taking a different look at your thoughts and beliefs is a very powerful way to take control of your life and health, but most people have no idea how to do this. If you are interested in seeing what this is all about, check out my FREE 5-Day Healthy Mind Challenge by clicking this link.
