So you really want to get healthy – what are your first 3 steps?

Making any significant change in our lives always involves some “inner” work. Whether we want better health, better relationships, more money, a different job…it’s all the same. You have to shift your mindset in order to get different results or to break out of your same old patterns. And I’m not talking about merely setting goals & thinking positively…let’s go a bit deeper…

Here are 3 great starting points to consider:

  1. De-Clutter. When we talk about mindset, your “outer” world will reflect your “inner” world. In other words, if your desk is messy so is your mind. If your email inbox if full so is your mind. If you can’t find anything in your closets because they are so full, then the same goes for your mind. Get the picture? Make a commitment to just get started de-cluttering something! Don’t believe me? I dare you to give this a try!   2. What is your WHY? In order to make any lasting change, you must know WHY you want to make a change. Begin with your goal: for example, “I want to be healthy.” Then keep going deeper by asking “so that…” I want to be healthy so that _____. I want to be healthy so that I will have more energy. Keep going deeper. I want to be healthy so that I will have more energy so that _____. I want to be healthy so that I will have more energy so that I can resume my favorite hobby.   3. Face your Fears! We all experience fear. Fear of failure, fear of it being too difficult, fear of it being too risky, what if we look silly, what will other people think, what if this doesn’t work, blah, blah, blah. What would happen if you focused on your WHY from #2 above, then committed to doing ONE thing to move past your fears? Put one foot in front of the other. Just do one thing at a time. Realize that what you are feeling is just fear, and fear is just a made up energy in our mind. Take a deep breath, then move into your fear. Then move past it.

Go slow if you need to, but DO SOMETHING! You will surprise yourself and how much easier it gets when you just take that 1st step. Click here for more tips to face your fears.
